Sad Girls Club Tour x Chicago Stop: Bcollective

Here at Bcollective we believe in the power of floral therapy. Flowers are not just beautiful; they’re a source of comfort, healing, and expression Each arrangement tells a story and brings a touch of nature’s serenity into our lives. We had the honor and pleasure to host Sad Girls Club for the second year in a row on their national tour! This collaborative event illustrated how floral therapy can foster mental wellness and community building.

The event was led by Muna, Executive Director of Sad Girls Club, alongside Nancy and Miray from B Collective, and Chelsea B, a Chicago-based fiber artist from House of Chelsea B. There was an array of attendees present from fans of the org, to psychotherapists and college students, creating a diverse and engaging group.

What is Sad Girls Club?

Sad Girls Club, an online and IRL platform dedicated to mental wellness among BIPOC women. The Sad Girls Club Tour acts as a multi-city safe space where attendees come together to share experiences, uplift each other, and find solace in the beauty around.

Hosted by B Collective for a second consecutive year, the event brought together individuals dedicated to mental wellness and community building through the perspective of flowers and creativity.

Why We Gathered

We were all there to bring floral therapy to life. The event was a heartfelt gathering where participants explored the art of floral arrangement as a means of mental wellness. We aimed to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone could share their experiences, engage in meaningful conversations, and find solace in the beauty of flowers. Through the simple act of arranging flowers, real and crocheted, we were nurturing our mental health and connecting with each other. It’s a form of creative expression that allows us to be present and mindful.

Seeing everyone there, creating and sharing, filled the room with joy. It’s a reminder that we’re not alone in our struggles and that we have the power to bring something new and special to a simple Saturday afternoon. We left the event with a handful of new friends, fresh flowers, and crocheted tulips.
